Chronicles
St. Joseph’s Govt.Aided High School has its origin half a century ago. It was started in the year 1953 in the place of Fatima Higher Secondary School both for boys and girls. Then the thought of giving education separately for boys and girls was discussed. Hence the name of St.Joseph was given to the girl’s school and the name of our Lady of Fatima was given to the boy’s school.
In 1954, on 18th June St.Joseph Nursery School was started by the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Jacob Palliampalli in the place opposite to St.Rosary Church in a small building with few girls. The school was slowly constructed with the help of local eminent persons. It was upgraded as middle school in 1963. In 1997 the recognition for starting high school was obtained from the Education Department.
St. Joseph’s School aims at academic excellence, development of various skills and character formation based on spiritual and moral values.
In1998 the first batch of students were sent for the state board examinations and they came out successfully and brought laurels to the institution.
In 2002 our school student R.Suganya got II Rank in the State Level SSLC Examination held in March/April 2002.She was also given a cash prize of Rs.30,000/- from the government.
On 03.04.2004 we celebrated our school 50TH year Silver Jubilee at Kamban Kalaiarangam. On 04.06.2010 our old convent building which was next to the Church was demolished and a new building with 12 classrooms and a hall at the ground floor was constructed for our school.
