As there are several villages around Gingee, our founder dreamt of a hospital to cater to the medical needs of the people. The hospital at Gingee was blessed by then bishop Very. Rev. Ambrose and Superior General Rev. Mr. Deodatta Mary on 25.05.1960. The sisters visited the 27 villages to identify and to treat the sick. Dr. Ashcof of Germany who served at Chetpet Hospital guided and streamlined the sisters to run the hospital. The experience of St. Francis of Assisi with the lepers inspired and motivated the sisters to carry out their mission with efficiency.
